Get your hands on the new Cold Cave album Love Comes Close. It's fantastic.
Here's a song called The Trees Grew Emotions And Died. The video has a little twist around 4:04, keep staring!
In other news, there is a new Jori Hulkkonen album out. Want it.

Obsessions for Last year
A few years back at the greatest bar ever Päiväkoti (R.I.P) a saw the most amazing DJ set I have ever seen. It was by Alexander Robotnick, a hundred year old chain smoking italian disco god. None of us young folks could keep up with him.
Here is a song by him re-released by Fool's Gold, called Obsession for the disco freak, and I'm absolutely in love with it. And whats not to love? Robotnick dancing with a cigaret in his hand and people flashing their favourite Disco jams, on vinyl. Kind of sucks that I only have two of the records shown in the music video, but at least I have a lot of records to scout on in the future.
Villa Nah is comig next week. Here they are with the producer of there VN ep. Jori Hulkkonen who has an album coming up later this month on Turbo records. I can hardly wait for it to come out.

POSTER
Hi! Here's the poster. We added JK+ from HITTO to the lineup, a fact that makes me a bit aroused. Come catch Villa Nah while they're new, fresh and not spoiled by worldwide success which they'll be enjoying sooner than you'll guess.

P.S. Sorry 'bout the poor quality picture, had to make some changes to adjust it the way Blogger wants it to be.

BEEN A WHILE BUT FUKKK OFFF
Whoops, it's been a while since any of us did any posting. Time to fix it. I'll just keep it short without mumbling too much about what's been going on and promise to get back to you with another post later this week.
Anyway, Miinustyttö decided to make school her number one priority for a couple of months, so it's just me and G.B. until the end of the year i suppose. We've been busy trying to book gigs all over Finland. At the moment it seems you'll get a glimpse of us at least in Tampere next month. I'm also involved in a radio show starting this month but I'll let you know more about it later.
I've got a song for you. It's not the best song ever written, but it makes my head nod like a good party song should. I was not going wild about Fukkk Offf when the album came out, and now it seems I like remixes better. Go get yours in digital form. Here's one by Markus Lange & Stereofunk:

NITE JEWEL IN TOWN
Nite Jewel (Italians Do It Better, US) is coming to our tiny home town. Nice! This could easily become the one gig to see in Turku this year. So get that ridiculous seven euros, shove it in your fluff-filled pocket and navigate your way to Dynamo. The action starts at 2200.

HIGH ENERGY ROCK'N'ROLL
Saturday was blast. Although we couldn't quite attract the crowd we were hoping for, we managed to pull together a decent enough party. I Was A Teenage Satan Worshipper really kicked ass and once again proved to be an awesome live band.
Here's a couple of photos by Veera Säilä. More to be added on Facebook any day now.

Next month Villa Nah! Keep tuned!

IWATSW And More
Hey everybody and sorry for being silent for a while!
I'm starting my post with a Fake Blood song which's been banging on my system lately. When comparing this with his earlier stuff one could almost call this disco. Well maybe disco house? What ever. The hooks in this track go staright to your guts and pull you on the dance floor and the next thing you know is the carneval whistle blowing holes in your ears. Despite all the carneval and the confetti, the recognizable Fake Blood sound we've grown to love these past couple of years is definitely there. Here's the song from Youtube. Go get a copy of Fix Your Accent EP, it has two more songs on the b-side.
Then to something completely different. We'll be having a party tomorrow and you are all invited! I Was A Teenage Satan Worshipper will be playing and it'll be a blast! I'm giving a free ticket in for the first five of you guys reading this. Just drop me an email in the address sheikki.sheikki@gmail.com, and I'll get back to you. Your name should be included in the email of course. Your address will not be used in any way, so there's no fear of future spam.
Here's a video from IWATSW made in 2006 i guess. Apparently the making of this video cost 8 euros at the time.

Discotirso
For us Bloghousers (is that are real word?) this is a old one, but now that this one is released on vinyl I think it's ok if I post some "old shit" as my first.
The artist is named Knightlife and has all kinds of nice electrodisco songs. This particular song kind of reminds me of Daft Punks Revolution 909 (It was the Drum machines Honnor day couple of days ago, 090909, did you celebrate?), and remindg me of Daft Punk is allways an invitation to the dancefloor. Plus its got Horns. And you can not sit at the table drinkin beer and talk about your friend who got to be on helooks (you shoudent talk about that at all) when theres horns playing, you gotta dance.
Tonight is the starting day of aura street market, we are gonna host a party together next week, but today you shoud go to TVO (these days, when ever you got a good reason to go to TVO, you shoud take it, while its still there. A shame, realy). Theres gonna be a Vintagemarket, a Vintagefashion show and of course live music (a local band called Hysteria, future sheikki act?). Plus a good freind of ours dj Anaïs Néné is playing records. How cool is that?
Unfortunately me and Hrrri are playing records at kolo tonight so we are going to miss all the fun (not all the fun! It all starts at 17:00!!). Come holla at us

SO FUCKING DISCO
My good friend Riku from club HITTO was the first one to introduce me to the music of Ruckus Roboticus. So thanks Riku!
I really love what this guy is doing with the remixes. Go check the myspace and you'll see what I'm rumbling about! If I had to pick my favourites between the songs in myspace they'd probably be the remixes for Switchblade Kitty and the one for Vampire Weekend. That's a hard thing to do though since they're all great.
And yeah, the guy is friendly as hell too! I got a song for free directly from the man, just because I asked so "nicely".
Here's a Ruckus Roboticus remix of Pase Rock's So Fucking Disco:

BENI FOR THE WEEKEND
I've been waiting for Beni to release his song titled Maximus for a while now. I got it somewhere around a month ago and it's been playing on my iTunes quite frequently. It sounds a bit like something that Tiga might do. And oh yeah, don't be frightened by Sam Sparro on vocals - I think this is the only good song I've ever heard him being involved with.
The single is out on Kitsuné now or then you can go and get it here.
Video has kids dancing around. My favourite one is the guy in the red shirt:
So that's it for now, have a great weekend and don't forget that GoatBoy is the busiest DJ in Turku! Tonight he's doing his thing in Cosmic Comic Café with Rodeo. Might want to check that out if you're in town.

BURNS AND SKWEEE
I'm sure you all know a movie called The Warriors. Being a huge fan of the film, I got pretty excited when I noticed that Burns had a new video out which is basically a pretty clever edit of the movie. The song is called Teknique and the video includes old-school gang-bangers, roller skating, chicks dancing together and some fighting in a subway toilet so where can you go wrong? Burns has also made other cool stuff lately. A remix of The Bucketheads classic The Bomb is definitely worth mentioning.
For more info on Skweee see this page for example.
And hey guys! If you are in Turku don't forget that it's the last Ydintalvipuutarha with Jori Hulkkonen tonight. The action starts around nine, and after that there will be plenty of time to go and see our dear GoatBoy play at Bar Kuka. He's playing what ever he feels like playing, and he's doing it with our friend DJ Huhtasheikki. So see you there!

We here at Sheikki Sheikki are big supporters of Skweee music. Couple of guys called Iacopo Patierno and David Giese have made a full-length documentary about the genre, and here we have a preview of it for your pleasure. It's already all over the web, but I'll post it anyway. Can't wait to see the whole film. You'll get a chance to see it in Turku too, so keep eyes open for it. We'll inform you about the date when we get to know it.For more info on Skweee see this page for example.

Song For a Grey Day
Thought I'd kick this shit on for good by posting a song for you guys. It's not the latest tune around, but suits me brilliantly on such a grey and dull day. James Yuill made an album earlier this summer and I absolutely love it although I think it may contain some of the same cheesiness David Grey had on his albums some years ago.
Anyway, Prins Thomas honoured the song This Sweet Love with something he calls a re-edit or what ever. The result is pure magic that is guaranteed to work on days like these when you feel the autumn slowly replacing the summer.
Hope you like it as much as I do.
